TOPAZ

Topaz forms prismatic crystals, with or without terminations and striations. It has a different electrical effect to most crystals in that the electrical charge at its facets alternates between positive and negative.

Topaz is the birthstone of November and has astrological links with Leo, Taurus and Scorpio. Blue Topaz is linked with Pisces. In Hindu tradition it represents the planet Jupiter.

Topaz promotes confidence, creativity and individuality. It helps you to move through your fears and any indecision you may have, opening up the potential of your universe. It helps you to see the 'big picture' of life. Its strong electrical characteristics can also help to detoxify the body and repair damaged tissues, organs and glands.

It is said to help with eye disorders, baldness, loss of taste and skin wounds. Topaz can also aid the functioning of the lungs and reduce asthma attacks both in severity and occurrence.

A preparation of an elixir of Topaz can be useful for people who suffer with insomnia. Topical application is recommended for acne, eczema, psoriasis and other skin disorders.

Traditionally, Topaz is said to bring a long and happy life to its owner with Eastern mystics believing it to ease the pain of death. In the West it has been worn or carried to overcome grief by the living.

It is a crystal that can be especially helpful to women, such as balancing hormones, easing childbirth, morning sickness, period pains, menstrual cramps and PMT/PMS.

Topaz has been used in the treatment of epilepsy, emotional runny tummies, bladder problems and conditions affecting the nose and throat.

Historically, it was one of the stones on the Hebrew High Priest's Breastplate. African Bushmen use Topaz extensively in ceremonies both for healing and contacting the Spirits of the Ancestors. They also believe that it brings good luck, health and wealth when carried.

Topaz has an amazing ability to boost and interact with auras and simply carrying a Topaz crystal can significantly enhance your aura. The size does not matter but the more edges or facets the better. In the same way, Topaz will magnify other crystal energies.

Perhaps the most profound effect Topaz can have is on meditation. Eastern mystics say that it helps them to see into the future, while Western meditators use it to help creative visualisation. It aids magic, especially in attracting things or people to you and in the manifestation of goals. It seems to transcend time and space bringing everything into the moment and making many things possible that you thought were not.

Blue Topaz
Blue Topaz focuses energy on the throat chakra, thus aiding clear communication. It also links the physical body, mind and spirit. It is therefore helpful for anyone working in any field of holistic health or healing.

Golden Topaz/Imperial Topaz
Golden Topaz/Imperial Topaz is soothing and relaxing, giving you a feeling of inner peace. It recharges your personal energy and inner strength, helping you to cope with the stresses and strains of modern 21st century living.

Regularly working with Golden Topaz during meditation and ordinary daily activities will enhance your quest for enlightenment.

To the Maya, Inca, Aztecs, Toltecs and Olmecs of Central and South America, Golden Topaz was a representation of the sun or Sun God, the sun being the most powerful energy source in their world. It brought protection by channelling this immense positive power to them.

Golden Topaz has been used to treat the liver, gall bladder and endocrine glands.
