Ask Dave: Gay & lesbian love
By Dave Singleton

Dear Dave,
I am a 41-year-old flight attendant who’s been dating a guy for two years. Our relationship is committed and monogamous to the best of my knowledge. But despite my requests, he has yet to introduce me to his family or friends. He says he is out of the closet, but his Mom supposedly does not want to meet me. His friends are mostly work-related and don’t know he’s gay.

His family and best friend are 400 miles away, but I’ve offered to meet them, even if just for an afternoon. He refuses. He tells me that his visits are twice a year and that I should be able to live with it. Our home life is split between New York City and Michigan, which has worked out well for us, since it allows independence.

Still, my partner has been included in every aspect of my work, family and friends. His segregated life angers me to the point of breaking up. Any suggestions as to when is it time to say enough is enough?
