Q&A With… Jennifer Aniston
By Susan L. Hornik

The star reveals her secret for moving on after a big breakup—and whether she thinks cheaters deserve a second chance.

Q: Your latest movie is called Rumour Has It. There are so many crazy rumours swirling about your love life—the latest of which we hear is that you are having a baby!
A: Hey, you know what? I should have had ten children by now and been married five times, to both women and men. Good gosh! I swear, when it happens, you’ll hear it from the horse’s mouth.

Q: In the film, you play a woman who can’t decide if she wants to marry her loyal, loving boyfriend. Do you think women can identify with this fear of commitment? Usually it’s the guy who’s got the issues!
A: I know! Women do as well. It’s not just the man. You sit there thinking, “Is this the right choice? Is there something greener on that side?” It’s all the same green at the end of the day. It really has to do with the person and what’s inside.

Q: In the movie, your character cheats on her boyfriend but is forgiven. Do you think women should get a second chance after committing an infidelity?
A: I really hope so.

Q: You’ve had a lot of romantic ups and downs this year. What can other women learn from your experience?
A: I would say sit in, be with it, be in it. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I’ll tell you, at this point, there’s such a freedom in a weird way to say “Look, here I am, this is it.”

Q: Where did you find the strength to deal?
A: I don’t know, I think it’s partly my parents. I learned by example what not to do from watching them. I watched my mother be very bitter and angry throughout her divorce and never let it go and waste the whole second half of her life. It’s so easy to blame, to point, to be victimised. But that’s just a waste of time.
