You are such a funny guy. Do you think guys have a better shot with a girl if they’re funny?! |
Absolutely! But of course they actually have to be funny, otherwise the girl’s like, um, forget it! Next! And guys can’t be nervous around girls either, because it just looks like they are trying too hard! I know that happened to me a lot when I was younger! |

In The Heartbreak Kid, Ben Stiller’s character finds himself romantically involved with two women. Have you ever dated two women at the same time?! |
Two women? I’ve dated many women at the same time. But I told them. I didn’t keep any secrets from them. I didn’t say, “You are the only one for me.” For me, it’s always better to tell people the truth, because people can accept the truth.
When I was dating a lot of people, I really tried not to hurt their feelings. You don’t just throw it in her face and make her feel like she is just one of the chicks. If it ever comes up, you go, “Well, come on, sweetie. You are not my girlfriend. I date, and you date, too. I don’t want to hear about the guys you’re dating.” And it’s cool, and you move on.
I think that’s what attracted me to this movie. Aside from all of the funniness, it is grounded in something real. It’s like, “Hey, you know, if you tell the truth and you’re honest, you will be all right in life.” You know what I mean? These people were not honest, and then they were confronted with who they really are and what sort of situation they put themselves in. They had to be honest, and at the end you see that come to fruition. That’s the grounding that I thought was interesting in this movie. |

Does your wife have annoying habits like Ben’s wife in the film? |
Don’t we all?! And the habits that are awesome at first, aren’t they the habits that become annoying later?! At first, it was like, “Oh, I love the way you chew.” Then five years later, “I **** hate the way you chew!” You know what I mean?! It’s always like that. I think it’s more about accepting people for their faults and knowing that is part of the package. |

So true! Were you with your wife when this was filming in Mexico? It looks like a very romantic place! |
No, she was at home, fat and pregnant, looking beautiful! |
I have to throw in one serious question: Ben’s character is taken to task because he’s 40 and he hasn’t gotten married. Do you think by 40 you should settle down—are we marrying later? |
I think maturity reaches different people at different ages and so does love… You can’t measure that. |
Have you or your friends ever experienced any wedding disasters?! |
I have 11 sisters and 6 brothers and I have seen more than my share of disasters. A wedding that took place in a backyard in East Los Angeles, where the reception was held in the midst of live chickens, roosters and bunny rabbits… enough said! |
