How would your past dates describe their outings with you? Drab, devastating or da bomb? This fun quiz will determine if you’ve got what it takes to come up with fun, inspired and entertaining spring dates, or if you’ll be doing the same old same old.

1.For your first meeting, you tell your date to look for the person who:
• Is flirting with everyone. Hey, we haven’t even met yet! (Score = 1)
• Takes a page from “Ed” and wears a suit of armor. (Score = 2)
• Stands at the entrance looking like s/he’s looking for someone. (Score = 3)
• Brings a prop relating to a shared interest – skis, swim fins, the OED. (Score = 4)
• Drives around several times and then leaves. (Score = -1)

2.What’s your idea of the perfect first date:
• Going someplace where there’s plenty of other people to choose from, just in case. (Score = 1)
• Skydiving. (Score = 2)
• Dinner and a movie. (Score = 3)
• Something that appeals to my date’s interests – like Indian food followed by a Bollywood film. (Score = 4)
• One where I don’t have to pay. (Score = -1)

3.You’ve made it to the third date. What’s the plan?

5.It’s your date’s birthday. How will you celebrate?

• Present a written or recorded litany of all the reasons I’m glad s/he was born. (Score = 4)
• Give him/her the night off and go out with my friends. (Score = -1)

Less than 0: Why bother even dating? Your attitude is horrible. Take a break, improve your attitude and then try again.

0-5: You’re a bad boy or girl, aren’t you? You like the chase more than you like the relationship. Try not to burn too many bridges before you’re ready to settle down.

6-10: No one can accuse you of not being creative, but perhaps you’re a bit over the top. Grand gestures can be fun and appreciated. But too many of them can look like you’re professing too much. Dial back occasionally and show your affection in a less ostentatious way.

11-15: At least you’re consistent. Dinner and a movie is fine periodically, but why not spice it up a bit every now and then? The change might do you good.

16-20: You’re a creative genius. You put some thought in your dates, blending your likes and your partners, creating dates that are unique and appropriate.
