CANCER - June 22nd - July 23rd
The key to your health and vitality is in the stars. First of all, let me tell you what the astro-guide says about the Cancerians's health: Cancerians are naturally round bodied. They tend to be on the plump side especially around the waist. They're not particularly sporty and a penchant for good food makes for a constant battle to fight the flab.

Their weakest area is the stomach and their emotions will effect their health. Tension and upset can lead to heartburn, indigestion and gastric ulcers. Cancerians will also turn to food when they're worried or depressed which explains their irregular eating routines. Overeating can become a habit that's difficult to break. A rigid exercise regime is no good for the moody Cancerian. Sometimes they just won't feel like anything so strenuous. They're naturally drawn to water sports and swimming might be the most pleasurable way to keep the body beautiful.

Another way of enjoying relaxation is through travel. Although Cancerians love their homes it's a fallacy to believe they don't like to travel. In fact they enjoy getting away as much as anyone else. They will have their favourite places so that they can feel quite 'at home' in their holiday surroundings. Overseas travel doesn't hold a lot of appeal as they aren't perhaps as adventurous as some signs. Nevertheless, they do enjoy trips to the seaside, romantic cottages in the country, and river holidays.

Cancer is not an especially sportsminded sign. The trouble is, they love to eat and, unless they get in some regular exercise, they'll put on weight very easily. It doesn't have to be anything too strenuous. They could just try walking to work instead of using the car.

Being a Crab, swimming is an ideal form of exercise, but golf or step-aerobics, even line dancing - might be fun alternatives for burning up those extra calories. And, at the same time, ridding themselves of built-up emotions and tensions.

The stomach is the most sensitive part of the body and their emotions are reflected in the digestive system. Stress, worry and anxiety strongly effect the Cancerian's health. Either they won't eat enough and will become nutritionally unbalanced, or they will resort to comfort-eating as a means of dealing with their high levels of emotion. A harmonious home-life and a stable financial position is a must to keep their emotions on an even keel.

Cancer is a Water sign and they find much emotional and spiritual solace by being near the sea or any large surface of water. Sailing, windsurfing, rowing and any other water sports would help keep them healthy. And they really would be unlikely to even notice the physical effort involved!

Let's take a look not at the Cancerian's diet and they are good cooks. Cancerians love to make sure their loved-ones are well-fed. The trouble is, the more time spent in the kitchen - which incidentally is the cosiest, most welcoming room in their house - the more the temptation to eat. Overweight Cancerians will try every which way to diet but the only pounds they stand to lose in the long-term are financial ones. Instead of expecting to lose a lot of weight very quickly, Cancerians need to work out a way to reduce it gradually. They should aim to cut down on salty foods, sponge puddings and stodgy dishes, stop eating between meals and drink plenty of water.

Because of their tendency to worry, which can lead to stomach and bowel disorders, Cancerians need a diet that is especially rich in fibre. But they could also, because of their erratic heating habits, be short of essential minerals such as calcium and potassium.

Cancerians should eat plenty of leafy green vegetables and dairy produce. They should avoid red meat and heavily spiced foods which could aggravate their stomachs. If they crave for something sweet, they should try a cup of hot milk with a teaspoon of honey in it.
