| Cancerian reader MC from Belfast has had a life full of responsibility, having to take care of her brothers and sisters from an early age Q: Her family life has had its traumatic moments including the time when her sister burned down the family home and sadly she lost her brothers. After living in England for some years, MC has returned to Ireland to set up home and to take her sister out of a residential home to live with her. Also living with them is her son who has taken to drink and is angry with life. This causes all kinds of unpleasantness at home. MC raised her four grandchildren and one still resides with her. She wonders if she has anything to look forward to. A: Cancer is the nurturing sign of the zodiac but it is time for MC to start thinking about looking after herself. I think that her son's problems will get worse before they get better and there is a limit to how much help his family can offer. He should perhaps seek professional help or at least another place to live so his mother isn't so stressed as she continues trying to support her family. |
